Ugh

I hate making mistakes.😣 HATE.

I mean who actually likes making them, I suppose.🤷🏻‍♀️ But it’s the worst feeling when you know you’ve &$?!’ed up, especially if your stupidity affects someone else.😞

Ways that I deal with mistakes and try to move on from feeling like a gigantic moron, involve the following:

1. If you unknowingly hurt someone, always take full responsibility. ALWAYS. 🙇🏻‍♂️ Just because you didn’t intentionally set out to hurt someone, doesn’t mean it affects them any less. OWN your mistakes and give a sincere mea culpa. 🙏🏻

2. Sit with it. Don’t just 🧹 it away and try to move on. Not so fast there, friend! 🏃 Process what’s happened and then how you can avoid making that mistake again. It may be that you make the mistake a few more times until you figure out how not to. But at least you’re trying. 😓 Write out where you went wrong and ways to avoid the wrong turn 🔀 in the future.

And don’t be afraid to ask others for their opinions. It’s amazing what we learn from our loved ones and friends. I’m very lucky to have my ♥️, @dmontattoo, to call me out when I’m making mistakes, but then provides me with needed guidance and support. 🙏🏻

3. Forgive yourself. ➡️FORGIVE YOURSELF. ⬅️This one is a tough one for me, personally, as I’m pretty hard on myself. 🥺 But it’s an important thing to do. You’re not going to be perfect. Find solace in the fact that NO ONE is. We’re all a bunch of &$?!-ups. Do the best you can. But also use the mistake as a learning experience to grow 🌱 from instead of beating yourself down. You are just a human after all.

Be kind to yourself, guys. And l’ll try and do the same for myself. 🙏🏻
